Traditionally bunads represented the family home and the area people came from. Today the bunad is worn for celebrations and special occasions. As tomorrow I will do a 360 turnaround, forget everything about new trends and the latest fashion, and jump into my traditional Norwegian costume. I honestly never feel better dressed than when I am wearing my bunad, and I love that it is old and inherited. So excited to celebrate the Norwegian Constitution Day tomorrow!

This was a fantastic day from beginning to end. I mean, when you manage to keep it going from 9 am until 8.30 am next morning, it must have been a good night!
Gullruten (a Norwegian TV-award) took place on Saturday in Grieg Hallen in Bergen. There were beautiful people in fantastic dresses and suits. We went to an insane after party at Bølgen & Moi, then an after-after party on a boat. Great atmosphere and such fun people.

Well, it seems to be quite far away honestly. Martine is in Bergen, enjoying Gullruten, but even though it is work related, I would gladly switch place with her. I mean, who else has a school group meeting on a Saturday afternoon? At least we are going out for drinks later, so that will be my consolation. But first, I am gonna try to make friends with excel. So far, we are not getting along too well…

We love things with a little edge. Floral prints are perfect for spring – summer but it can get a bit girly-girl. With this dip dyed solution the flower power is just perfect. It adds a layer of cool to it. Wrapped Up Dolly Style

This was definitely the best birthday weekend in many years! It’s not too bad turning old when you have the best of friends, bf and family around you. Spent the whole day in sunny Oslo doing a classical picnic with strawberries, cake, cinnamon buns, fruits and corona. As we were tourists in our own city we somehow ended up a bit too close to a nudist beach, so while we were playing boules a lot of free spirited people were strolling around us. For the record, we kept our clothes on. Better that way.
As the weather is still perfect I think an outdoor sushi lunch is on the agenda before I head back to Sweden.

Going back home again and it feels so right. Catching up with old friends and just enjoy some days doing nothing related to school - heaven.
I can’t believe my first year here is about to end, it went by so fast, and since I travel about every weekend I still feel like I haven’t settled down here quite yet. Going back home also means catching up with some sewing projects. I bought a lot of fabrics that are still untouched and were supposed to be transformed into a couple of summer skirts. Time…
First up is a whole day of textile lectures before my private limo picks me up. I wish. A five hours bus ride is more likely.

Monday morning and the calendar is packed until Friday, which means my head will be buried in books (or more likely everything I-technology) so I can ease my conscience from all the project work that is occupying my time lately. The worst thing about being a student is definitely that a holiday is not really a holiday when you have due dates just around the corner, so 1st of May will be a rather dull day.. Luckily I will be heading back home again pretty soon.

Sundays can sure be the best day of the week, as long as they turn out this way: relaxing in the sun for hours and eating shitloads of pancakes stuffed with blueberries, raspberries and nutella. Killer combo.
As for this rather random living room decoration, the fireplace here is never in use so I had to see if it could be good for anything else. Like storing shoes that otherwise are pretty much stuffed together in a way to small closet. The pig is actually a jewelry I made a couple of years ago, and I am not to sure which statement I signalise if I put it in the statement-jewelry category, but anyways..it’s kind of quirky and fun

Redesign Something Old

I found this black skirt back home, it must be nearly ten years old by now, but it feels brand new as I did a little redesign on it. The back side is still the same length as it used to be, but the front part is cut and sewed way shorter. It doesn’t show off too good in this picture, but it is the same length on the whole front part.
